Personal certification for PE electrofusion welding

A high quality pipework system can only be achieved through the use of sound materials and tools and crucially through the deployment of competent personnel.
QSC have developed a personal certification system for professional staff carrying out PE electrofusion welding. A PE electrofusion welder holding this certification is equipped to carry out electrofusion welding to a high standard.
The QSC certification scheme "PE electrofusion welding - electrofusion welding on pipes and fittings" is recognised by the CKB, the Dutch institute for certification for cable infrastructure and pipelaying companies. This recognition demonstrates and guarantees the quality of this certification scheme.

elektromoflassenCertification process
The process leading to certification for "PE electrofusion welding - electrofusion welding on pipes and fittings" comprises four elements:
  • individual study based on a textbook provided by QSC;
  • theoretical and practical instruction, familiarising participants with all matters related to the production of electrofusion welded joints in PE pipes and accessories;
  • a theoretical and practical examination allowing the professional competence of participants to be evaluated by independent experts;
  • testing of the electrofusion welded joints completed during the practical examination, by an independent accredited laboratory and in accordance with the requirements of the Dutch standard VM 102.

Certificate
Participants successfully passing through all elements of the certification process (the theoretical and practical examination and the laboratory test) will receive a certificate in PE electrofusion welding and a non-transferable welders passport. The certificate and the associated passport will have a period of validity of three years. An extension of the certification following this three-year period may be possible on the basis of experience demonstrably built up during the period of validity of the certificate.
