CE marking

CE markeringLegislation on CE marking is drawn up at the European level, with the objective of promoting free trade within Europe while at the same time guaranteeing product safety. The CE marking indicates that the manufacturer or (where the manufacturer is located outside Europe) the importer declares that the product complies with the relevant European legislation.
CE marking is a statutory requirement for many products. A distinction is made here between products which may be provided with a CE marking based on the manufacturer or importer's own declaration, and those where the assessment of compliance must be carried out by an appointed agency, a so-called Notified Body.
