Geomembrane tank systemA geomembrane tank system may be a buffer reservoir constructed for example in PE-HD film or an underground liquid barrier construction, possibly using PVC-P. Buffer reservoirs are used for example for the temporary storage of contaminated earth or to prevent soil contamination, for example around petrol stations. Where the geomembrane tank system is able to meet the requirements of Dutch CUR/PBV Recommendation 44 (fourth revision) "Assessment of liquid tightness of liquid-tight facilities", a Liquid-tight Facilities Declaration can be issued. Where the geomembrane tank system is not required to meet the requirements of CUR/PBV Recommendation 44 (fourth revision), the geomembrane tank system can be regarded as a film construction and can be assessed on the basis of the "Protocols for the application of plastic geomembranes for the purposes of soil protection". |
