Mineral soil protection and sealing structures

Mineral soil protection and sealing constructions are used for example in connection with environmental protection measures.
Depending on the requirements of the licensing authority, in certain cases the application of a mineral layer may suffice for the isolation of contaminated land. Such a mineral layer may for example consist of Trisoplast®, bentonite matting, tertiary clay or other clay-like products.

QSI can carry out inspections of the execution of the work, looking for example at the smoothness, regularity and homogeneity of the applied layer. The mineral layer will then be tested by an accredited laboratory on behalf of QSI, looking among other things at the degree of compaction and the K value. The compaction value provides an indication of the rigidity of the layer. The K value can be used as a measure of the mean water permeability.
