Collapsible tanks & Jet fuel bladders - flexible tank storage for liquids

A collapsible tank is a storage buffer made of a plastic membrane, made of materials such as polyester-reinforced polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or of polyester reinforced polypropylene membrane (PP membrane). Among other things, collapsible tanks are used for the temporary storage of different liquids (that may be harmful to the environment).

Collapsible tanks are made up of strips of membrane using various fusion bonding methods. As required, QS Inspection can perform inspections of:
  • the membrane to be used;
  • the bonding work in the factory (in the Netherlands or beyond);
  • the leak tightness of the weld seams;
  • the installation of the collapsible tank on site.
QS Inspection has specific experience in the inspection of jet fuel bladders on the basis of the internationally recognised standard MIL-PRF-32233. The inspectors’ findings are recorded in a report for the client, possibly provided with a declaration of conformity.

Support in selecting collapsible tanks

When a client is in the process of selecting a supplier of one or more collapsible tanks, the inspectors from QS Inspection can visit the operations of the potential suppliers and conduct a quality audit there. Our client can then make a decision on the basis of their reports. A delivery inspection can also be done at the factory of the supplier that is ultimately chosen.
