Biobased Materials Certification (NTA 8080)

Circular economy and renewable resources
Biomass can be the raw material for energy applications, as well as for products, bulk (platform) chemicals, fine chemicals and for bioplastics. Bioplastics are plastics made of natural materials such as starch, cellulose, lactic acid or proteins. Through the use of biorefining, various components of the biomass are released with minimal waste production. Certification of biobased materials can create added value for market introduction when selling your products.

To demonstrate the sustainable source of biomass, the existing NTA 8080 scheme has been expanded. This creates the possibility of testing and certifying biomass and biobased materials for non-energy applications. Conformance with the certification scheme is tested by means of an audit on site. Upon a positive conclusion, your company will be proposed for certification, and once approved the NTA 8080 certificate will be issued.
